Our volunteers are an integral part of the HospiceCare team. Being a HospiceCare volunteer is a serious commitment. The time requirements vary depending on individual assignments and the volunteer's availability. Help is needed days, evenings, and weekends.

All applicants to become volunteers complete training for their assignments and an orientation to the HospiceCare mission, services, and philosophy.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Respite care for the family
• Companionship and comfort for the patient

• Expressive arts activities

• Facilitate support groups
• Assist with special programs
• Telephone reassurance

• Mailings
• Answering telephones
• Word processing
