HospiceCare in The Berkshires volunteers are caring, committed people who want to make a difference, and they are a valued component of the care delivered to patients and their families coping with a life-limiting illness.
Our hospice programs and services rely on volunteers working together with our professional staff to provide compassionate care throughout Berkshire County. HospiceCare volunteers are supported by a highly skilled group of nurses, aides, social workers, spiritual counselors, and other volunteers.
Our volunteers are thoroughly trained to provide companionship to both patient and family caregiver. They are a caring friendly face for chatting, reading, playing games, watching TV, listening to music and sharing stories. Volunteer visits also offer respite to the family caregiver, who can take break from caregiving – and even leave the house to run errands or relax.
We welcome volunteers age 18 and over from all different backgrounds and interests.
